I grew up in a small town in China (with 5 million people still). My childhood memories feature no fancy toys or early education programs, but instead a full-time relationship with the outdoors. Smitten by the beauty of nature and the difference science can make, as a young girl I resolved to become a scientist (whatever it meant to me back then). The pursuit of objective truth is rooted in me, and I believe in the power of imagination, education and hard work.

I love to observe and can't help searching to understand how everything works and fits together, not only the physical world but also human society. I am small and unimportant physically, but deep within I believe that my mind and imagination can extend far. I'm certainly limited by what I know already, but what I can learn in the future is boundless, as is my curiosity.
